If you are a visiting scientist or researcher, the university, scientific research institute or private
employer inviting you may offer you accommodation in guest houses or apartments owned by them.

A scientist or researcher may also rent an apartment through real estate agencies.
August through October are the months when finding a suitable apartment for rent may be somewhat more difficult, as this is the time when students go looking for a place to live, therefore it is advisable to start looking for accommodation in advance. The rent for 1 – 2 room apartments in the major Lithuania cities may range from 150 Euro to 800 Euro, whereas in the old towns of such cities, it may start at 300 Euro upwards.
